Heart disease describes a range of conditions that affect the heart. Heart disease term is often used interchangeably with cardiovascular disease. It generally refers to conditions that involve narrowed or blocked blood vessels that can lead to heart failure, chest pain (angina) or stroke.

Heart failure is a condition in which your heart can't pump enough blood to meet your body's needs. The term “Heart failure” doesn’t mean that your heart has stopped or it’s about to stop working. However, heart failure is a serious condition that requires medical care.

  • Coronary artery disease
  • Heart attack
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Valve Disease
  • Cardiovascular Disease

Obesity increases the risk of heart disease and stroke. But it harms more than just the heart diagnosis blood vessel system. In addition to weight gain is a frequent consequence of heart-damaging lifestyle choices such as lack of exercise & a fat-laden diet. Obesity also can lead to serious conditions like heart failure, in which your heart can’t pump enough blood to the body. Having diabetes or pre-diabetes puts one at increased risk for heart disease and stroke. Stroke and coronary heart disease can be caused by the same problem atherosclerosis.

  •  Diabetes Mellitus and Stroke
  •  Abdominal Obesity
  •  Vascular dementia
  •  Abnormal cholesterol and high triglycerides
  •  Haemorrhagic Strokes (Bleeds)

Cardiology is the branch of medicine which deals with the dysfunctions of the heart in humans. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology.

Cardiovascular surgery is the main surgery on the heart vessels. It is employed to treat the complications of valvular heart disease, ischemic heart disease or to correct congenital heart disease from various causes, endocarditis, atherosclerosis, and rheumatic heart disease. It also includes heart transplantation.

  • Open heart surgery
  •  Modern beating heart surgery
  •  Heart transplant
  •  Coronary artery bypass grafting
  •   Minimally invasive surgery

Pediatrics Cardiology is also called Pediatric Cardiopulmonary disease which involves the childhood disorder includes both the heart and lungs problems. Different types of inflammatory heart disease include myocarditis (the disease is characterized by heart muscle inflammation); Kawasaki's disease is a rare childhood disease that affects blood vessels. Pericardial diseases may clinically be classified as acute pericarditis, pericardial effusion, cardiac tamponade, and constrictive pericarditis. Infectious endocarditis is a form of endocarditis. It is the inflammation of the inner tissues of the heart. These are the major inflammatory defects for Babies Heart.

  • Cardiac failure
  • Congenital heart disease
  • Kawasaki disease
  • Rheumatic heart disease
  • Aortic stenosis

Cardio-oncology is another term to describe the efforts to prevent or treat patients with a tumor who are facing heart issues caused by cancer medicines. It is the intersection of heart conditions in patients who have been treated for cancer. Cancer patients are exposed to cardiovascular morbidity and mortality more than ever before. Anticancer therapies can cause significant injury to the vasculature, resulting in:

  • Acute coronary syndromes (ACS)
  • Critical limb ischemia
  • Angina
  • Arrhythmias
  • Acute thrombotic events

Cardiovascular disease is very prominent in women, causing 1 of every 3 deaths every year, around 1 female every passing minute. All women confront the risk of coronary diseases. If, awareness gives mindful of side effects and dangers only related women’s, and in addition eating a heart-sound eating regimen and working out, can protect them from heart disease that influences women’s more than men incorporate. The more aged the women get; more is probable for her to get CHD. But women of any age should be worried about coronary disease. All women’s can find a way to avoid it by rehearsing the right way of living their life. While a few ladies have no side effects, others encounter angina (dull, overwhelming to sharp inconvenience in the chest), undeniable irritation/jaw/throat or torment in the upper belly or back.

Hypertension is another name for high blood pressure. It’s a disease that can lead to severe complications and increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, and death. Hypertension is the single most important risk factor for stroke. It causes about 50 per cent of ischemic strokes and also increases the risk of haemorrhagic stroke. The increase in cardiovascular risk has primarily been described in terms of elevated systolic pressure in those over age 60 years and elevation in diastolic pressure in younger individuals.

Cardiac nursing is a nursing specialty that works with patients suffering from various cardiovascular conditions. A cardiac nurse helps in congestive heart failure, unstable angina, myocardial infarction, cardiomyopathy, coronary artery disease and cardiac dysrhythmia under the direction of a cardiologist.

Cardiac nurses must possess specialized skills including electrocardiogram monitoring, defibrillation, and medication administration by continuous intravenous drip. Cardiac nurses work in many different environments, including coronary care units (CCU), cardiac catheterization, intensive care units (ICU), operating theatres, cardiac rehabilitation centres, clinical research, cardiac surgery wards, cardiovascular intensive care units (CVICU), and cardiac medical wards.

Interventional cardiology is a non-surgical option which uses a catheter – a small, flexible tube – to repair damaged or weakened vessels, narrowed arteries, or other affected parts of the heart structure. Heart valve disease occurs when the valves which control blood flow into the heart chambers are not working correctly. In Peripheral vascular disease, the heart can also be affected by clogged or hardened veins and arteries which are in other parts of our body. Coronary thrombectomy involves the removal of a thrombus (blood clot) from the coronary arteries.

  • Coronary artery disease
  • Heart valve disease
  • Peripheral vascular disease
  • Angioplasty
  • Congenital heart defect correction

Cardiac regeneration is a broad effort that objectives to repair irretrievably injured heart tissue with cutting-edge science, including stem cell and cell-free therapy. Reparative tools have been designed to restore damaged heart tissue and function by the natural ability of the body to regenerate. Together, patients and providers find regenerative solutions that restore, renew and recycle patients' own reparative capacity.

Cardiovascular Engineering stimulates innovative methods and technological advancements in the basic understanding of the cardiovascular system and in cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment applications. The original Contributions outline new concepts and applications in cardiovascular mechanics are:

  • Cardiology applications and diagnostic methods
  • Cardiac and vascular imaging
  • Vascular grafts and artificial hearts
  • Cardiac electrophysiology techniques
  • Drug delivery systems.

Medical diagnosis is based on information from sources such as findings from a physical examination, interview with the patient or family or both, medical history of the patient and family, and clinical findings as reported by laboratory tests and radiologic studies. Medical care is very important after the diagnosis of heart disease. The goal of treatment is to stabilize the condition, to control symptoms in the long term, and to provide the drug if possible. Diagnosis of heart disease can be performed by various methods, such as:

  • Imaging techniques
  • Surgery
  • Electrophysiology
  • Angiography
  • Radiography

Heart Devices are an electronic device that helps to circulate a heart that is used too partially or completely to replace the function of a failing heart. The development of these wireless heart monitors marks a new era in medicine and the transition from healthcare to population levels to personalized medicine where appropriate patients are equipped with advanced biosensors which in turn have their data processed by sophisticated prediction algorithms will happen. Cardiac devices that are used to treat heart disease are:

  • Defibrillators
  • Biosensors
  • Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD)
  • Left ventricular assist device (LVAD)
  • Pacemakers

Cardiovascular pharmacology deals with the treatment of heart disease. Cardiac medications are used to treat the cardiac, circulatory and vascular system. Various cardiovascular agents are available to treat various cardiovascular conditions. Sodium, Potassium, Calcium channel blockers, ACE inhibitors and cardiac biomarkers. There are many types of cardiovascular drugs on the market that include cardiac glycosides, anticoagulants, antiarrhythmic agents, anti anginal agents and antihypertensive agents.
