Obesity also can lead to serious conditions like heart failure, in which your heart can’t pump enough blood to the body. Having diabetes or pre-diabetes puts one at increased risk for heart disease and stroke. Stroke and coronary heart disease can be caused by the same problem atherosclerosis.
